No matter who you are, whenever you buy a house you want it to work for you. This can mean that you need to rennovate it for your needs. Say you wanted to install a stairlift, then you would probably need to look into hiring a PAT Testing company that would make sure that everthing was working ok. You would probably also want an electrician to make sure everything is in working well.
The best thing to do is work out what you think you can handle, ie: (basic DIY like adding shelves, painting and decorating etc) and jobs you will need a professional to handle, ie: (Electrics, Replacing Oak Beams, PAT Testing and Plumbing).
